I'm a little late on posting this, but let's call it Flashback Friday? Back in June I attended the Dwell on Design Home Tours in East Los Angeles and I fell in love with this house the moment I walked in the door. The Campbell/Machado Residence is located in the heart of Silverlake with views of the hills and steps from great restaurants and shops. Architect & Designer, Tim Campbell of Studio Tim Campbell, designed and resides in the home. It is tastefully industrial and contemporary in a way that still makes it feel like a cozy home. They had beautiful antiques throughout. And the contemporary art collection alone was to die for - the walls were COVERED with incredible original pieces that the couple had acquired over 30 years of travelling all over the world. They won me over with this one - I am in love with this house!
About the Home: Tim envisioned his own home in the hills of Silverlake as a contemporary residence inspired by the Brutalist movement. This ground-up construction was designed as an urban, open living space to display his personal collection of political and socially charged contemporary art, as well as to respond to the character of the neighbourhood – a modern retreat from the frenetic pace of Sunset Boulevard.
Dwell was able to share a few photos for me to publish. You can find more photos on Tim's website. Enjoy!
